Diederik Peereboom has started as T&D Europe first full time Secretary General on 1st February 2018.
On the occasion of its General Assembly held in Brussels on 18 January 2018, T&D Europe, the European association of the Electricity Transmission & Distribution Equipment and Services Industry, has designated Mr. Diederik Peereboom as its new Secretary General, starting on 1st February. Based in Brussels, Diederik is leading T&D Europe on a full time basis.
An energy policy expert, Diederik brings 20 years experience in public affairs and communications as well as a strong knowledge of the European institutions environment. Diederik is joining T&D Europe from the public affairs firm Burson-Marsteller in Brussels where he was heading the EMEA energy practice for the past four years as Senior Director. Before his time at Burson Marsteller, Diederik was an EU policy manager in an energy generation association and has worked for four years as a policy adviser in the European Parliament.
Diederik takes over from Nadi Assaf, Deputy Director of French industry association Gimélec, who has successfully lead T&D Europe since 2016 and was instrumental in the creation of T&D Europe in 2008. Nadi will remain an active contributor to the activities of T&D Europe as the representative of its French member Gimélec.
